Position: Medical Assistant (MA): Eldridge Family Practice

Location: Eldridge, IA

Schedule: 32 hours per week, Day shift, M-F

Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Required:

· Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.

· MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.

Schedules all tests and surgeries. Ages served range from newborn to geriatric. Prepares patient for any procedures and assists with the procedures/treatments as needed and within the scope of their experience and licensure. Provides age specific education/information to patient and family members. Gives injection requested by physician. Prepares, administers, and records medications in accordance with the scope of license and under the supervision of the physician. Schedules tests, procedures and admissions outside the Clinic as directed by the physician. Cleans and stocks patient exam rooms, instruments and supplies throughout the day. Answer’s patient questions as necessary and appropriate. Provides follow-up and returns patient calls. Mails letters to patients when unable to reach by phone, to notify they must set up appointment to receive test results. Schedule: Monday – Friday days, 12-hour shifts, some weekends 40 hours per week General Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant, currently certified. If not currently certified must complete within one year of hire or transfer. Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
