Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery – Full-time

- Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
- Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours/week, 6:45PM-7:15AM with holiday and weekend requirements, occasional on-call requirement of 1 shift per 6-week schedule.

- Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility
- Expanded Labor & Delivery Unit to a 15-bed LDR and 3 OR suites
- Separate 26-bed Mother/Baby area and a 16-bed Level III NICU
- We average 270 to 300 deliveries a month
- Maternal Level III Designation
- Participating in Team Birth and CHAMPS breastfeeding initiative
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma Required
- BSN preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required
- One year or more of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred – LDR setting
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days
- NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required
- AWHONN - Advanced Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required Or
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
- Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients
- A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
