Full Time - Medical Assistant

Location: Concentra - 599 Inland Center Drive, San Bernardino, California 92408

Flexible schedule is a must, may include weekends and holidays

As a Medical Assistant you will:

Work one-on-one with patients as a health care provider
Monitor the flow of onboarding patients and delivering routine medical care
Handle blood draws, injections, EKGs, vitals, drug screens, rooming patients and much more.

Responsibilities

Our Medical Assistant greet our patients, obtain their medical histories and verify patient information
Prepares patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing all required testing
Provide assistance during examinations and treatment
Perform ancillary testing and tasks as directed by the Center Medical Director (including but not limited to PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws, etc.) and as certified
Performs DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
In addition to Medical Assistant duties, you will be cross trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communication of wait times, etc.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, training as a medical assistant, or military medical specialist with current credentials in the state of employment
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, clinical office environment
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) preferred but not required
Prefer applicants who are conversationally fluent, can read and write in both English and Spanish

Overview JOB SUMMARY A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting. A limited Radiological Technician performs Radiologic examination on patients of all ages and provides Radiologist with finished exams for interpretation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: See License and Certification Experience: Urgent care experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping. Ability to perform diagnostic radiology exams. License/Certifications: Must hold and maintain (via required continuing education credits) current certifications from the ARRT, CRT for a limited practice technician permit. Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA). Equipment: EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.
