Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

This is a full time, benefited, exempt PreOp-PACU RN Supervisor position. The shift is typically Monday- Friday with a varied shift. You will work closely with the Manager for staffing coverage.

This position is eligible for the Supervisor incentive compensation plan.

As a Supervisor of the PACU you will have the following responsibilities:

Supervise approximately 20 direct reports, learn, orient and manage PSE, PREOP, Endoscopy and PACU, coordinate initial meetings for employee onboarding, assist manager with staff evaluations, timecard (UKG) management, assist with the interviewing and hiring of new employees, help with the development of budget, prepare for the move into the brand new tower also located on the Encinitas campus anticipated in May of 2026.

In addition, Ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans. Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills

  • Two years applicable clinical experience,

one of which in a leadership role.

  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
  • Graduate of an accredited program.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • Maintains current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • BSN
  • Strongly prefer hospital RN experience in PreOp- PACU or ICU
  • Prefer RN experience with Endoscopy, and PSE
  • Prefer one year or more of Supervisor or above experience

For more than 55 years, Family Health Centers of San Diego’s (FHCSD) mission has been to provide caring, affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low-income and medically underserved persons.
