Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

  • License: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

    • One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

RN GN OBGYN/Med Surg Full Time Nights

Find your calling at Mercy! Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Respective State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: (5B) is a 32-bed unit. This unit consists of various GYN surgical procedures, bariatric weight loss surgical procedures, colon resections and other minor colon surgeries, and general medical patients. Additional patients served include various GYN conditions, GYN/Oncology, Obstetrical Complications, Mother/Baby Couplets, post-partum Nurse to patient ratios is 1:5-6 and PCA to patient ratios 1:6-8. All staff work 12-hour shifts, 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, which includes alternating weekends and holidays.
