PREMIUM: We are offering a $5.00/Hour premium on top of base pay, plus generous shift and weekend differentials, BSN and MSN premiums, and specialty certification pay when applicable. 

This is a .9 FTE, 12-hour night shift position. Every other weekend required. Full benefits, generous perks and free parking.

Float Pool RN’s are highly flexible and provide care for a diverse patient population in various units, including Telemetry, Medical, Surgical, Orthopedics, and Critical Care. 

Comprehensive Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience required. Critical Care experience and current IV experience will offer additional opportunities for the RN candidate. RN's in the Float Pool enjoy continuing education and certification opportunities in a culture that recognizes professional growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Current WA state RN license required.
  • 3+ years experience as an RN preferred.
  • Tele experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
  • BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred.
  • Preference will be given to certified RN's, including PCCN and CCRN.

Note - RNs hired into units that require a competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation will be required to take a rhythm assessment in their first week. This will include standard cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and paced rhythms.

As a member of this team, you will care for patients treated for stroke, infectious disease, pulmonary, GI, and many other diagnoses. Our team also proudly cares for patients pre/post diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures. We have six rooms fully plumbed to handle dialysis patients. All rooms in our unit are private with their own restrooms, supply cabinets as well as couches and privacy curtains for the comfort of families who wish to stay close. Each room is equipped with a computer to facilitate documentation and medication verification. We utilize Epic as our electronic health record. This job is responsible for providing a wide variety of professional nursing services which focus on the provision of quality patient care consistent with Viriginia Mason Franciscan Health standards/values, applicable regulatory requirements and scope of practice for the nursing profession. Work includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care during time of stay in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and the patient/family. Medical Telemetry - Charge RN

Job Summary and Responsibilities Current Incentives for qualified RN’s: Sign-On Bonus Education Loan Forgiveness Relocation Assistance Our 4th floor has 32 beds to care for our medical patients, infectious diseases, pulmonary, GI, non-invasive treatments, and lots of other diagnoses. All rooms are private with their own restrooms, supply cabinets as well as couches and privacy curtains for the comfort of family who wish to stay close. We have two rooms fully plumbed to handle dialysis patients. Computers are also located in each patient room to facilitate bedside documentation and medication verification. We utilize Epic as our electronic health record. The management structure of the unit consists of an experienced Clinical Manager and a Clinical Coordinator who work together to oversee the unit. The Charge Nurses provide additional clinical support for the staff and help to maintain the flow of the unit. The staff is composed of RNs and Care Assistants, with support services provided by Respiratory Care, 24-hour Pharmacists, PT/OT, IV Therapy RNs, Dieticians and RN Care Managers. RN assignments are determined by patient census and acuity, and our normal RN ratios are 1:5, with CNA support. Charge Nurse serves as a leader and clinical resource to staff under the direction of nursing leadership. Collaborates with the primary RN or team leader to ensure the planning and delivery of quality patient care in partnership with physician, interdisciplinary team and patient/family. Acts as a role model, demonstrating technical/clinical competence consistent with the needs of staff and the patient population served. Assists staff with problem solving and decision making. Essential Duties: Oversees clinical operations to include: coordination of assignments, delegation of tasks, provision of clinical care, patient placement, unit and patient flow. Aligns staffing with productivity-based Staffing Matrix to include requesting resources based on patient need and flexing staff based on census and workload fluctuations. Prepares assignments considering patient acuity and staff skill mix/competency; ensures timely posting of Staffing Plan; assigns and/or ensures staff are provided with rest and meal breaks. Monitors and oversees Sitter usage in assigned area. Serves as the first point of contact in the department chain of command during the shift for staff’s clinical needs, investigation of complaints, service recovery and completion of incident reports; ensures management is apprised of concerns and incidents. Coordinates care, collaborating and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Maintains and applies knowledge of quality and SafetyFirst-related initiatives and requirements.
