In this role you will be:
- Participating in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient.
- Coordinating discharge planning in conjunction with other members of the health team.
- Directing and assisting with the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, or technician in rendering care to patients.
- Working collaboratively with all members of the patient care team and providing leadership so that standards of professional nursing practice are maintained in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrating ability to function as a charge nurse as assigned.
- Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the span of life.
- Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, or adult patient and must be able to fulfill the department’s call time requirements.
- Able to float to various nursing departments, not limited to inpatient, rehab, intensive care and emergency department
- Able to understand the principles of aseptic technique and sterility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- EXPERIENCE: One year experience as a Registered Nurse required, 2-5 years preferred, Critical Care experience preferred
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
- ACLS, moderate sedation, basic dysrhythmia course, critical care, required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- PALS preferred
- PALS preferred
- Chemo Therapy preferred
- Rehab Care- UDS Credentialing preferred
- Eight (8) Hours of approved Trauma Education per year required
- Trauma Nurse Course Completion within 1 year of hire or 6 months of transfer
- Shift - Rotation
