Job Duties

*Candidate will receive $10,000 for board certification in addition to the base pay and an additional $15,000 if the candidate holds an autonomous license. Base salary commensurate with experience.

Western State Hospital is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric care under psychiatrist supervision to patients on assigned unit(s); conduct psychiatric assessments; conduct patient and family interviews; provide psychopharmacologic management; obtain and document necessary consents for treatment; and complete required documentation regarding the provision of direct-care services.

This position will also serve as Head of Treatment Team (HOTT) with multi-disciplinary team with regard to the ongoing development and implementation of the unit program;

Minimum Qualifications

- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

- Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

- Licensed Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority in Virginia.

- Recent graduates may be eligible for consideration pending NP license and certification

- Active DEA prior to the approval of clinical privilege(s).
