Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training:

Associates Degree in Nursing required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

Unit Description:

Short Stay consists of the following phases of care for the surgical patients: Pre-Op, Recovery, Discharge, and 4 OR rooms.
Our patients include all age ranges from Pediatric through Geriatric
Our Care team consists of a team that provides safe quality care: Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Unit Clerks, Surgical Technologists, a Resource Nurse, and a Nurse Manager.
Our PCM, Resource Nurse, and Charge Nurses are available to support our clinical needs with access to education, resources, guidelines, and protocols.
Our electronic medical record is EPIC.
We operate 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, no weekends, no major holidays, and no call. Shifts vary in start time depending on your role on the unit.
New Graduate Nurses are not accepted in this unit.
Must have at least a year of Pre-Op, PACU, ICU or ED experience. (Pre/Post Op)

With our additional procedure room, we support the Lung Nodule Clinic for bronchoscopies with anesthesia, and our mental health patients for ECTs.
