The 5N Oncology Unit specializes in advanced treatments for various cancer diagnoses. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:45AM — 7:15PM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide direct nursing care.

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Interprets data and shares interpretation concurrently with Medical Staff, Patient Care Services staff, VPQ and other direct care givers to promote compliance with outcomes expectations. Assists in the development and monitoring evidence-based best practices. Participates in statewide quality efforts as assigned to include Florida Medical Quality Assurance Inc. (FMQAI), TJC, Core Measures, Leapfrog, Institutes of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and other applicable programs. Assists to coordinate, promote and maintain house-wide patient safety initiatives. Reports/participates in Team meetings, Patient Safety and Performance Improvement Council, applicable Medical Staff committees, and other committees as assigned.
