POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible to plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients. Ensures patient care, safety standards, and documentation is carried out according to AORN standards, recommended practices, and guidelines. Receives direction from: Providers, Anesthesia providers, Nurse Manager. Gives direction to: Surgical Technician, Instrument Technician, Materials Mgmt. Clerk. Call required. 

EDUCATION:

  • Degree from an Accredited Nursing program

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous O.R. experience preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • MT RN Licensure
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • CNOR desired

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures.
  • Principles of Asepsis.
  • Basic Office Skills – computer and keyboarding.
  • Ability to act as a Scrub Nurse
