Qualifications

Job Requirements:

1. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Arkansas.

2. Current CPR/BLS and Handle with Care certifications (offered onsite).

3. Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.

RN- Intensive Care Unit

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will assume responsibility and accountability for the adult and geriatric patients undergoing continuous monitoring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and/or psychiatric diagnoses. The CCU RN will often be active participants in bedside procedures with physicians. He/She will be responsible for certain specialty equipment and procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilators, hypothermia protocol, and performing peritoneal dialysis. As a CCU RN, he/she will be part of the Rapid Response Team and will assist hospital staff in assessing, treating and transferring (if needed) deteriorating patients to the appropriate unit. He/She will provide appropriate care and comfort needs for the well-being of the patients by assessing, administering medications as ordered and educating patients and family members about active treatment plans and goals. The CCU RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures, and standards of the Health System. Overview The Cardiac Stepdown Unit is staffed by the Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care for a wide variety of patients including heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and stable post interventional cardiology procedure patients. The RN cares for post vascular surgery patients as well as those requiring non-invasive ventilators, antiarrhythmic titrated drips, vasoactive cardiac drips, as well as insulin drips. Overview 3 South is an 18 bed-unit in which the Registered Nurse (RN) provides care for patients admitted for general cardiac diagnoses as well as sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, and stroke. The RN also cares for patients requiring antiarrhythmic non-titrated drips. The patient population served tends to have multiple diagnoses requiring the RN to work closely with all of our Cardiologists as well as our Hospitalists to provide comprehensive care. Overview 3 North is a unit in which the Register Nurse (RN) facilitates expert multidisciplinary care to a variety of medical/surgical adult and geriatric patients. There is a strong emphasis on provision of care to patients requiring hospitalization before and/or after general surgery. The RN also cares for the Ear, Nose and Throat surgical patients along with peritoneal dialysis patients and patients with other medical problems covering a wide range of diagnoses. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System.
