Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Apprentice, you will deliver high quality, patient centered care in a variety of services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. In this role:

You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance your skills/training and the needs of the department.

You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

You will obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests and ensure accuracy of all labels and a timely transfer of specimen.

You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.

You will perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

What qualifications you will need:

Nurse Apprentice license

In the last semester of nursing school

Previous C.N.A or Unit Secretary experience preferred

American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

Responsibilities Under the supervision of a nurse, provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Responsibilities: Completes assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.| Observes patient status and responses. Documents and reports observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.| Assists preceptor with development of care plan by reporting test results and patient observations.| Performs other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent.
