Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse who has at least 2 years of experience in the Operating Room as a circulating nurse. This is a short-term contracted position requiring a commitment of 36-40 hrs./week for 12-13 weeks. This is a full-time 7:00 AM-7:00 PM position. This position is at our Baptist Downtown location.

In this role you will work closely with skilled physicians and operating teams. Your day will start with a check-in and patient assignments. Depending on the day's surgery schedule you may work with a singular patient for a complex case, or you may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. As a circulator you will only ever work with one patient at a time. You will meet your patients in the OR, and you will remain with them for the duration of their procedure and ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a nurse circulator you will be the patient’s primary advocate, responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.

As an Internal Traveler Registered Nurse for Baptist Health you will:

Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition.
Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care.
Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.
Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
Act as the patient advocate
Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
This position will require call.
