Nemours is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator (Primary Care), FULL-TIME, to join our Primary Care team in Orlando, Florida.
Nemours primary care practices provide a kid-friendly, family-centered pediatric primary care experience for families in Central Florida. With 20 primary care and three urgent care practices conveniently located throughout the region, we provide quality, professional pediatric services with special attention on preventive care and whole-child wellness.
Registered Nurse with responsibilities for leading education to improve the quality, safety, and the patient experience of care delivered.
The Clinical Nurse Educator holds the primary responsibility for implementing strategies that promote optimal learning and the effective translation of knowledge and skills to the learners practice environment thus enhancing a learner’s competence. The Clinical Nurse Educator facilitates staff development by engaging primary care medical caregivers in lifelong learning activities to enhance their professional competence and role performance. The clinical educator operates in both the practice and learning environment to meet the demands of the practice setting. At the core of the professional development process is evidence-based practice, which integrates the highest level of evidence, educational and clinical expertise, and learner values to facilitate decision-making. Critical thinking to apply scientific knowledge and theory relates to both educational methods and practice. The programs and services include orientation, competency program, in-service and continuing education, & career development & role transition. The overall outcome is the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to support protection of the public and provision of safe, quality care within the primary care practices. This is reflected in the adoption of new behaviors and/or process as part of ongoing change; acquisition of knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes upon which to base practice; and professional role competence and growth. Assists in the interview process, orientation, direction, and evaluation of all clerical and clinical staff, in conjunction with the manager. This includes providing input on the development of clerical and clinical performance goals, in coordination with the manager. Provide updates to the manager and providers regarding goal achievement and staff performance.

The Clinical Nursing Educator Professional Practice Includes
- Collect data from educational activities and other sources to determine educational needs.
- Identify issues and trends, obtain and analyze data for individuals, organizations, and communities.

- Establish an education curriculum, programs, and/or plan that outline strategies and alternatives to achieve the established educational and organizational outcomes.
- Implement the educational plan utilizing teaching and learning principles.
- Influence the planning process, enhance the abilities of others, and affect change.
- Evaluate progress to attainments of outcomes.
- Support an infrastructure of care excellence.
- Participate in activities to support AAAHC accreditation.
- Maintain clinical competencies in primary care areas and participate in direct patient care.
- Establish ongoing clinical competency process and oversee implementation.
- Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of care delivery in primary care.
- Maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing and professional development practice.
- Evaluate his/her own practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Model professional behaviors including involvement/collaboration in professional organizations, academic institutions, engagement in lifelong learning activities, and dissemination of information through publications and presentations.
- Establish collegial partnerships contributing to the professional development of peers, students, colleagues, and others.
- Collaborate with inter-professional team members, leaders, stakeholders, and others to facilitate exceptional care in practice and positive outcomes for patients.
- Integrate ethics and evidence into teaching and learning & practice environments.
- Advocate for the protection and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions, institutions, and organizations.
- Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost related to professional development activities and expected outcomes.
- Utilize skilled oral, written, and electronic communication to communicate effectively and to foster collegial relationships both intra- and interdepartmentally.
- Other duties as assigned. .
- Travel to multiple locations is required.
- BSN required.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience required.
- Must have State of Florida or multi-state RN License in good standing.
- National Certification in Professional Development and/or Nursing Clinical Specialty preferred.
