Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Nutley, NJ

A licensed practical nurse (LPN) is needed to provide specialized healthcare support for two students in a K-12 school setting located in Nutley, NJ. This contract position runs through the current school year (CSY) and offers an opportunity to deliver focused nursing care in an educational environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 nursing care to two students with distinct needs
  • Assisting a 3-year-old boy with gastrointestinal (GI) tube management and potential tracheostomy (trach) care on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (18 hours per week)
  • Supporting an elementary-aged girl with trach care for 30 hours per week, 6 hours daily across five days, with no bus riding required for either student
  • Monitoring and documenting health status and interventions
  • Collaborating with school personnel to ensure a safe and healthy environment

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN/LVN licensure
  • Experience with tracheostomy and gastrointestinal tube care preferred
  • Ability to provide compassionate and attentive 1:1 nursing care for pediatric patients
  • Comfortable working independently in a school environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain accurate medical records
