LPN School Contract

A full-time nursing opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in school health services. This role is based in Union City, NJ, supporting a high school setting during the complete school year (CSY) on a contractual basis. The position’s schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and will include bus riding responsibilities to ensure student health across various routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care and health assessments tailored to the needs of adolescent students.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare plans.
  • Monitor and document student health conditions and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to promote student wellness and safety.
  • Manage student health records in compliance with state and district policies.
  • Provide health education and counseling to students as needed.
  • Conduct health screenings and participate in health promotion initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid and current LPN/LVN or RN licensure for the state of New Jersey.
  • Prior experience working in school health settings preferred.
  • Ability to perform bus riding duties to support student health monitoring during transit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of adolescent health issues and relevant legal/ethical standards in school nursing.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary school team.
