Position: Part Time

The Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor/Coordinator teaches students how to perform basic patient care services directed at the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients through a combination of classroom lecture, and the coordination of hands-on clinical experience in a local long-term care facility.

Responsibilities:

Instructing CNA classes
Maintaining a safe and comprehensive program
Training students to safely and effectively care for patients
Evaluating and reporting of students’ progress
Creating and delivering lecture demonstrations
Ensuring smooth and safe operation of the teaching space.

Qualifications:

Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
Minimum of two years experience, one year in long term care
Vermont NATCEP approved
Ability to instruct classed efficiently

Keeps the utility and service rooms in order. · Provides assistance with resident care, where applicable. · Follows organization and departmental policies and procedures. · Reports and accidents or dangerous situations immediately. · Maintains confidentiality of organizational and resident information. How you make a difference The Correctional Nursing Assistant provides direct support under the supervision of licensed nurses, assisting with patient care and medication distribution. This role is responsible for organizing and documenting keep-on-person medications, maintaining medication storage areas, and ensuring compliance with state practice acts and facility policies. The position assists providers during sick-call and chronic care appointments by recording vital signs, obtaining specimens, and performing point-of-care testing. Additional responsibilities include facilitating telehealth visits, assisting with procedures such as EKGs, managing sharps inventory, and ensuring infection control. This role requires working in a correctional facility environment and may involve travel as needed. Key Responsibilities Distribute, document, and manage keep-on-person medications in compliance with nurse supervision and state regulations. Maintain and organize medication rooms, carts, and inventories, including supplies, equipment, and sharps. Assist providers with clinical appointments, recording vital signs, obtaining specimens, and performing point-of-care testing.
