Responsibilities*
To provide nursing care to the Adult Plastic Surgery patient population. Pediatric care will be provided as deemed appropriate.
Serves as a clinical resource and consultant in a multi-disciplinary setting to patients, families, nurses, and medical staff specializing in, but not limited to, cosmetic surgery, burns. hand, breast alteration, and gender confirming surgery, skin cancer reconstruction, vascular anomalies, and wound care.
Assist providers with care of clinic patients inclusive of treatments, assessments, and patient care orders.
Performs daily phone and triage tasks in MiChart, from patients, families, clinicians, and other healthcare team members, related to patient concerns, issues, and needs
Performs pre-operative and post-operative care for patients and families, which includes education and plans of care primarily in the outpatient setting.
Participates in the development of institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines in keeping with evidenced-based practice and standards for nursing care of general surgery patients.
Assists in the development of nursing orientation and on-going teaching materials.
Participates in quality assurance/quality improvement and evidenced-based practice initiatives.
Participates in department and committee meetings to improve care across the continuum.
Orders tests, renews prescriptions, informs patients of results from testing, telephone triage (gathering information, giving instructions and answers to patients, teaching, relaying problems to MDs, and making decisions for patients to come to ER or clinic using nursing assessment skills).
May support research initiatives.
Candidate must be able to function independently with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care and patient advocacy.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40 hours
Shift / Days / Hours: Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 8hr shifts, the shift times are variable
Location: Primarily Domino's Farms Plastics (Lobby A) with some potential for other locations as needed based on division growth changes/strategies

- Current licensure as a RN in the State of Michigan
- Two (2) or more years of direct patient care as a RN with the adult surgical population
- Five (5) or more years (in the last 8 years) of experience as a Clinical Care Coordinator or Case Manager
- Current RN experience managing adult plastic surgery population in the outpatient/ambulatory care setting
