Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Staff LPN Ambulatory is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider in an ambulatory care setting. Assigned tasks may include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering medications in-office, performing point of care lab testing, assisting with procedures and triaging patient phone calls. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with applicable state regulations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician or other licensed provider within the scope of practice for the LPN.
  • Follows HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medication Management and Infection Prevention procedures for cleaning and sterilization of equipment and/or instruments.
  • Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point of care testing and medication administration. Assists with medical office procedures.
  • Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
  • Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
