Summary:

Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies.

· Write prescriptions for medication and blood products based on laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post-discharge in accordance with written practice protocols.

· Based on findings, determine patients' eligibility for entry into clinical trials.

· Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests.

· Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.

· Administer therapeutic measures / obtain specimens as prescribed.

· Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan.

· Dictate or writes patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner.

· Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care.

· Conduct or participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure patients are receiving appropriate and quality care.

· Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed.

· Triage patients to determine the urgency of physician evaluation.

· Document and report care in an accurate, timely manner using appropriate forms and records.

· Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to remain flexible in the changing healthcare environment.

· Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency.

· Meet with the public outside the institution and efficiently market and promote cancer treatment.

· Determine work priorities, assign work and insure proper completion of work assignments.

· Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, patient’s rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adheres to FCS and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan.

· Other duties as requested.

· Keep work area and records neat and orderly.

· Maintain all company equipment in a safe and working manner.

· Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information as required by the HIPAA regulations.

· Assist in training new employees to related job duties.

· Will be expected to work at any FCS location to help meet FCS business needs as directed by collaborating physicians.

· Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

· Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master’s degree in nursing or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program

· Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply

· Certification from American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC).

· BLS certified

· Leadership skills necessary to direct others toward objectives that contribute to the successful treatment of patients. Analytical skills necessary to evaluate patients’ status, health care procedure / techniques and to monitor quality of patient care. Fiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenue. Description Attention all Nurse Practitioners, we are calling you to partner with us as independent contractors providing services to our Military Service members. We primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) in the State of Florida on an "as needed basis". We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following: U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) Army National Guard (ARNG) U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR) U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR) Air National Guard (ANG) U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR) Responsibilities: Support Physical Health Assessments of military personnel. Review health history, service member medical records, and medical questionnaires. Interview military personnel to determine current and prior medical concerns. Identify any concerns that need to be addressed immediately, inclusive of Behavioral Health. Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member’s medical record using the proprietary system. Requirements Supervising Physician may required depending on the state requirement Active NP license in the state CPR/BLS Certification Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health - preferred Experience with mobile medical services - preferred Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology - preferred Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily Able to work extended hours Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations Able to travel, with weekend availability - preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Basic computer knowledge and skills Not Required - Diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications With over three decades of experience, we are a trusted industry leader.
