Location: The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders Pay Range: $27.81 - $51.64 This PRN position supports Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Bethesda. The office is open Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, no weekends or holidays! PRN RNs receive an additional $2.25 differential. RNs with an active OCN will also receive an additional $2.25! Prior Oncology experience required. Key Performance Areas: Safely and accurately mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by Company physicians. Will use ONS standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and HRS guidelines. Responsible for ongoing patient assessment. Documentation: Thorough and accurate documentation in OncoEMR of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for the appropriate administration of all medications. Will follow the Company’s I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter. Teaching: Act as moderator/instructor for chemotherapy classes as needed. Educate patients and (when appropriate), family about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course. Interact with patients and families in a caring, professional manner. Telephone triage: Includes prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non-urgent.
