HSHS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team. Ideal candidates are patient focused and mission driven looking for an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in an outpatient oncology setting.

Position Specifics:

• Department: Outpatient Medical Oncology

• Core Function: Nursing

• Schedule: Part time, 32 hrs/wk, days 8am-4:30pm, no weekends or on call

• Facility: Saint Vincent Hospital (with occasional travel to St. Clare Hospital in Oconto Falls)

• Location: Green Bay, WI

Education Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
  • Wisconsin: RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Hospice nurses have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: • Supporting as needed visits for patients and their families to monitor the patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. • Facilitating urgent hospice admissions after normal business hours. • Assessing patients’ social and medical history to develop plans of care that meet their needs. • Working with physicians, nurses, facilities and other medical professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans for each patient. • Assessing and coordinating for services such as home health aides, social work, chaplain, pre-bereavement and volunteers. • Maintaining records of patient care plans, physician orders, medication administration, and other information about a patient’s condition. • Providing counseling and support to patients and families during difficult times in their lives • Recommending appropriate treatments and equipment for patients based on their condition and available resources • Ensuring adequate symptom control, including referral to acute care and medication supply.
