Description Job Description PeaceHealth is seeking a CNA - Psychiatric Unit for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.51 – $30.85. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Job Summary Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Essential Functions Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure. Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse. Assist patient with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration. Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed. Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs. Documents relevant patient care data May provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc. May be required to complete required CareConnect training to assist with Coordination of Patient Transport. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Accredited Program Required: Certified Nursing Assistant Experience Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Experience in an acute care facility Required: Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs Credentials Required: Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support Skills Demonstrates a courteous, caring, and understanding attitude towards patients, families, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers, and physicians. Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. Description The Psychotic Disorders Unit (3 Neurosciences) is looking for a Nursing Assistant I to join their team. Position Offering: Shift: Day & Night Rotating with rotating weekends and holidays Hours: Full time; 36 Hours Per Week; Three 12 hour shifts a week Entity: UNC Medical Center Location: Chapel Hill, NC 3 Neurosciences is an 18-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. The Psychotic Disorders unit serves adults with acute and chronic mental illnesses. Services typically include a thorough psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychoeducation groups, case management services, and discharge planning. This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours. This position requires the ability to attend the required weeklong hospital orientation offered every two weeks. Orientation Schedule: Monday and Tuesday - In person from 8am to 4pm; Wednesday - 8am to 10am Virtual and in person from 1pm to 5 pm; and Thursday and Friday - Virtual. Summary: Provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic or home health care setting. All work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
