Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

  • Provides quality nursing patient care under the supervision of medical providers and nursing leadership.
  • Assess, plan, give and evaluate nursing care
  • Assists the provider with patients, including the preparation of examination rooms, preparation of the patient for the visit, taking vital signs and explaining preparations to the patients
  • Perform EKG, venipuncture, administer medications and immunizations as prescribed, assist with examinations and in-office procedures, conduct and interpret NSTs in office.
  • Responsible for completion of telephone triage within the scope of practice, following up with patients as appropriate
  • Primary contact for laboratory, procedural and clinical staffing within the practice providing patients with information and education about their conditions, results, treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices. 
  • Assist in development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, working with appropriate system personnel to assure clinical operations comply with all JCAHO and NYS DOH requirements 

Qualifications: (Licenses, Certifications)

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
  • Must maintain current BLS training and certification.
  • Must obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification within 1 year of hire.  

Education:      

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • BSN preferred

Experience:

  • Three years of recent nursing experience required. In addition, the Registered Nurse is required to successfully complete the Thompson Health System orientation program during the introductory period
  • OBGYN experience preferred.
  • NST/EFM experience preferred
  • Office/Clinic nursing experience, NST/EFM, injection administration and phlebotomy skills preferred. 

Position Pay Range: $34.00-45.00/hour
