Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient neurology care under physician supervision and collaboration.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions, with an emphasis on stroke qualifications and acute neurological care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurologists, hospitalists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family education to support care plans and recovery.
- Document all patient interactions, care plans, and progress notes in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of neurology best practices and stroke guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in New York State.
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with hospitalist/inpatient experience.
- Neurology and/or hospitalist experience strongly preferred.
- Stroke care qualification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
