- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
This RN Residency Program is based in our Med/Surg units, including Post-Op, Ortho, and General Medical.
- Residents will complete 3-4 weeks of classroom training with the Nursing Educator followed by 8+ weeks of preceptor-led clinical training.
- This is a full-time position with varied shifts during the program. Upon graduation, residents will transition to a full-time day/night shift RN role in their home unit.
As a part of Mountainside’s Registered Nurse Residency Program, you will successfully learn and be able to complete the following:
- Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes
- Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
- Collect patient’s health data
- Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems
- Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
- Implement interventions identified in the plan of care
- Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines
- Delegate task to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing
- Conduct discharge planning, assisting the patient/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching
- Maintain confidentiality with all information
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required,
- Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
