Position Summary
- The Nursing Supervisor is a key operational and clinical leader within the East Carolina Heart Institute, responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, team performance, and daily clinic operations across Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, and the Heart Failure service lines.
- This role oversees a highly complex, fast paced, and high-volume clinical environment serving patients with some of the most advanced cardiovascular needs in the region.
- The Nursing Supervisor provides direct operational oversight of nursing and clinical support teams, ensuring the seamless coordination of care, optimization of clinic flow, and delivery of exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct operational leadership for daily clinical operations, staffing, patient flow, and quality of care across assigned specialty clinics.
- Collaborate closely with physician and administrative leaders to develop and implement innovative care delivery models to advance outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Serve as a bridge between inpatient, outpatient, and regional teams, ensuring continuity of care and alignment with the broader cardiovascular system of care.
- Participate actively in the design, launch, and growth of state-of-the-art programs, clinical innovations and multidisciplinary initiatives within ECHI.
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing and clinical team members to foster professional growth, engagement, and accountability.
- Support data-driven decision making through performance monitoring, Lean/quality improvement initiatives, and operational efficiency efforts.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence in the clinic - modeling collaboration, compassion, and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Degree in Nursing is required
- Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state is required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting or related is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills is required.
- Experience in managing complex cardiovascular or surgical specialty teams is preferred.

- Location/Department: East Carolina Heart Institute (Greenville, NC) - Thoracic/Vascular/Cardiac Surgery/Heart Failure (outpatient)
- This position is full-time (40hrs/week) - Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
- No nights, weekends, or call
