Job Description

Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse in our Philadelphia, PA location.

The primary role of the Registered Nurse is to implement the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family. The registered nurse is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, providing and evaluating, the care provided to assigned patients

Essential Functions

Clinical Judgment:

Requirements

If not already obtained, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) must be achieved within 3 years of date of hire.

Job Description Nemours is seeking a full time 0.75 FTE (60 Hours per pay period) Registered Nurse for our 5 West Hematology/Oncology/Transplant and Cellular Therapy Unit in Wilmington, DE. Schedule consists of 60 hours in a 6-week schedule, with the ability to work more hours. 12 hr. Day/Night rotating, holiday requirement, and every third weekend requirement. Flex to other units and hematology oncology clinic as per the unit’s rotation pull guidelines as needed. You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN is preferred Must have Delaware State license (or compact license). Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required PALS optional but required to obtain within a year of hire. 5 West is a 24-bed unit that has been designated as the Hematology/Transplant and Cellular Therapy and Endocrine unit for the Nemours. This step-down unit provides inpatient care for pediatric patients requiring services from Hematology/ Oncology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy, and Endocrine subspecialties. Admitting diagnoses include but are not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, neuroblastomas, solid organ malignancies, sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, and other types of genetic and immune disorders. In addition, stem cell and bone marrow donors are cared for on this unit. The type of patient care provided in this area is complex due to patient diagnosis, the intensity of therapy, the criticality of patient condition, and the extensive patient/family issues that necessitate nursing intervention. 5 West nurses are responsible for coordinating patient care as part of an inter-professional team. Nurses are required to be competent in the care of the newly diagnosed endocrine patient, and hematology, oncology, pre-, peri-, and post- transplant and cellular therapy patient including the administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy. Competency is established and maintained through an internal educational process. All registered nurses on 5 West must successfully complete and maintain the National APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Course, the APHON BBMT (Blood & Bone Marrow Transplant) Core Curriculum, Hematology and Oncology 101, and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification within one (1) year of hire. Nurses are strongly encouraged to maintain or achieve their specialty certification: CPON (Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse), or CPHON (Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse). Job Description Nemours is seeking a Fetal Nurse Coordinator to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Wilmington, DE. The Nemours Fetal Care Center (NFCC) and Advanced Delivery Unit are expanding the scope of service to include comprehensive prenatal, obstetrical and postpartum care for women whose unborn child has been diagnosed with a birth defect or complex medical condition that will require immediate multidisciplinary pediatric care in the neonatal period. In addition to currently available prenatal imaging to diagnose these conditions, we are also expanding invasive diagnostics and fetal intervention procedures. The Fetal Nurse Coordinator (FNC) is the frontline associate and first contact clinician coordinating care for all patients entering the Nemours Fetal Care Center and Advanced Delivery Unit Program. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the FNC will take the lead in the coordination of a clear and concise plan for all NFCC patients in a manner that meets the needs of the patient and family first. This position will support Nemours patients and families in experiencing continuity of care within the Nemours system.
