Responsibilities

The Pediatric & Adolescent SANE Nurse is a credentialed SANE P/A who provides emergent medical and forensic evaluations for children and adolescents who are the suspected victims of sexual abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, or other forms of child maltreatment. This includes forensic photography, evidence collection, maintaining chain of custody, providing court testimony when required and serving as a liaison for emergency department healthcare teams, detectives, attorneys, crisis center advocates, child advocacy center personnel and child protection workers. The SANE P/A will provide services for patients aged 0-18 who seek services at a Norton Healthcare hospital for sexual assault, abuse or trafficking.

Qualifications

Required:

One year of Nursing experience
Associate Degree Nursing
Registered Nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric (SANE P/A) - Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN)

Desired:

One year of Pediatric Nursing experience
Bachelor Degree Nursing
SANE-P certification through International Association of Forensic Nurse Examiners

How you make a difference In their role, the Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. They work closely with the Medical Director to promote high standards of care and support the professional development of nursing staff to provide quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and manages budgets, policies, and procedures to align with facility goals and objectives. Organizes service delivery, manage resources, and collaborate with other departments, facilities, persons served, families, and visitors. Leads quality improvement activities, provides direct supervision, and serves as a resource and consultant to nursing staff.
