Givens Estates a nonprofit life plan community in Asheville NC, and Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, work to help our independent living residents that want to age with choices and remain in their home, where they’re most comfortable. As a Home First CNA, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your clients one-on-one, helping them live a healthy, happy and safe life at home. We’re looking for PRN Nurse Aides (CNA) to float between both campuses. Our current needs are during the week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. 

 What you'll do: 

  • Provide personal care and assist with home making 
  • Support residents with their ADLs and/or IADLs, including but not limited to: 
    • Ambulation, transfers, or exercises
    • Bathing, dressing, and grooming 
    • Cooking and feeding  
    • Toileting, and incontinence care 
    • Housekeeping 
    • Meal preparation 
    • Safe transportation 
    • Medication reminders  
    • Pet care 
  • Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits  
  • Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses   
  • Communicate changes in a resident’s condition to the nurse on duty
  • Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so  
  • Always practice safety and infection control methods 
  • Protect yourself with proper transfer and lift techniques  
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements 
  • Participate in ongoing education and training offered by Givens and/or outside resources as required  
  • Always practice within your scope of training, license and certification, whilst also adhering to all relevant and applicable policies and procedures   
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor 

What you'll need: 

  • Active North Carolina CNA
  • Current CPR certification is nice to have, but not required  
  • Must have an active, unencumbered driver's license
  • Must be willing to support Givens Highland Farms and Givens Estates
  • Must be able to push, pull move, and/or lift a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move or carry a minimum distance of 10 feet with or without mechanical device

Compensation is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience, plus shift differentials.
