Responsibilities
Responsibilities for Cath Lab RNs Include, But Not Limited To:
- Performs comprehensive assessments, recognizes critical changes, and initiates appropriate interventions or emergency protocols.
- Manages and interprets data from specialized equipment (e.g., intracranial pressure monitors, central and pulmonary artery lines, cardiac monitors, ventilators).
- Develops, updates, and evaluates individualized care plans; documents all care according to regulatory and hospital standards.
- Serves as a patient and family advocate, delivering compassionate, age-appropriate care.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and prioritize patient care; delegates tasks appropriately.
- Functions as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or clinician; supports onboarding of new staff and students.
- Communicates essential patient and unit information clearly to the healthcare team.
- Maintains competency in unit-specific equipment and follows evidence-based practice standards.
- Demonstrates professionalism, respect for diversity, awareness of legal/ethical standards, and consistent, reliable attendance.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health/Orlando Health and unit/department.
Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
- NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).
Experience
- 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
