Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated RN Pre-Op/PACU to join our team on a PRN basis. This role is essential in supporting smooth surgical flow and ensuring exceptional patient care from pre-operative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care in both the Pre-Op and PACU settings, ensuring continuity of care and continual evaluation of patient condition.
Implement all physician orders while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
Assist physicians in procedure rooms as needed, including supporting conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique when appropriate.
Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
Complete accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients and families in preparation for discharge.

Skills Required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
Ability to master new skills and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Thorough understanding of the perioperative process, surgical procedures, and anesthesia considerations
Current clinical assessment and patient care skills
Telemetry experience required

Experience Required

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current state RN license
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or ICU
