Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78 - $64.81 / hour
To provide nursing care to the Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmic ambulatory population inclusive of patients in the Retina, Cornea, Ocular Oncology and Uveitis ambulatory clinic.
Provide nursing care to patients being evaluated for surgical interventions for ocular cancers.
Provide nursing care to the Uveitis patient population.
Perform prednisone and immunomodulatory therapy counseling for the uveitis patient population.
Order and follow labs for the ophthalmic patient populations, inclusive of patients on immunomodulatory therapy.
Provide patient education for ophthalmic conditions.
Assist providers with the care of clinic patients, including treatments, assessments, and patient care orders.
Assist with medication administration for procedures within the retina department
Provide telephone management of ophthalmic patient population which includes: triage of calls from patients, families, clinicians and other health care team members.
Collaborate with other health care team members and associated resource persons to provide continuity of care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Candidate must be able to function independently with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care and patient advocacy.
Candidate must possess high-level critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to care for patients with complex ophthalmology conditions.
Pre-operative and post-operative teaching, counseling and obtaining consents for ophthalmology procedures.
Provide nursing care and support to additional ophthalmic providers.

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*
Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
Five (5) years or more of experience as a Registered Nurse, applying the nursing process.
Two (2) or more years (within the last 5 years) RN experience in the outpatient oncology setting OR Ophthalmology operating room.
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Two (2) or more years of experience with the oncology patient population
Ambulatory care phone triage
Experience with lab monitoring and medication counselling in the outpatient setting
Experience providing patient education in the outpatient setting
Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 5 years) experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40 hours
Shift/Hours/Days: Days, Monday- Friday, variable shifts. Potential weekends and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Location: In clinic, primarily Kellogg Eye Center with some potential for other locations as needed based on division growth changes/strategies. This position is not a remote position. Standard hours of operation for the Kellogg Eye Center Clinics are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm with possibility of extended hours for continued patient care.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
