Monitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome-oriented indicators
Actively participates in cost containment and assists in accurate charging for patient services
Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients
Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of medical regimen
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training:

Associates Degree in Nursing required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

Unit Description:

Pediatrics is a 19 Bed Unit consisting of Pediatric patients, working on a track schedule.
Patient ratio 1:5.
Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists.
Our goal is to provide safe exceptional care in every aspect of our pediatric population.
New Graduate Nurses are accepted and welcome!

Work Experience:

1-2 years of related clinical experience preferred
General Pediatrics
Our staff is committed to working together as a team to coordinate extraordinary care to the pediatric population.

Direct discussion with the physicians and advanced practice providers to determine medical necessity for admission and establish appropriate status and level of care requirements. Facilitates clinical guidelines and achievement of desired treatment outcomes in the most appropriate setting and the most cost-effective manner. Analyzes patient records to determine appropriateness of admission, treatment, and length of stay in a health care facility to comply with regulatory and payor reimbursement policies. Maintain compliance with regulatory changes affecting utilization management and performs utilization review in accordance with all state and federally mandated regulations. Works collaboratively with the Utilization Management Manager and payors to ensure that denials and appeals are tracked and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
