Job Summary

We are a 30 bed unit serving many medical patient populations. Our focus is oncology (from new diagnosis to end of life), respiratory diseases, congestive heart failure, and end of life/hospice. Our nurses are trained and certified to administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments for inpatients. We have a mix of experienced and new graduate nurses who demonstrate great teamwork to provide those we serve with high quality, compassionate care.This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN and in cooperation with other nursing staff.This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including adult through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Education/Training/Experience

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • CNA
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent; or, be of at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
    • Good verbal communication skills
    • Must be one of the following: (N/A for PCA, SNA or PCT)
      • C.N.A
  • PCA, SNA- Must have completed one of the following:
    • Patient Care Experience
    • Completed a C.N.A. Program
    • Completed at least sophomore year of a nursing program
License/Certifications/Special Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry. (N/A for PCA's, SNA's or PCT)

This skilled team has experience working with many types of impairments resulting from spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, arthritis, stroke, fractures, multiple trauma, neuromuscular disease and other orthopedic/neurologic diagnoses. Our nursing staff is a combination of RN’s, C.N.A’s and Unit Secretaries. We work collaboratively with the Rehab Physiatrist, patients and their support systems, therapy staff, social workers, discharge planners, chaplains and dietitians. Our average daily census is approximately 13 patients and our average length of stay for our patients is approximately 13 days. We offer intensive Rehabilitation nursing 7 days per week 24 hours per day and the emphasis is maximizing the patient’s health and independence.This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN and in cooperation with other nursing staff.This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including child through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
