Responsibilities

UPH - Vinton Family Medicine, is currently seeking a caring and detail-oriented healthcare professional to join our team as a Clinic Nurse. We welcome applicants who are Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), or Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, support providers with clinical tasks and procedures, and help ensure efficient daily clinic operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a patient-focused, team-oriented setting with UnityPoint Clinics!

  • Greet and room patients; obtain vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as ordered by the provider
  • Assist with in-office procedures and exams
  • Accurately document all patient interactions and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Provide patient education on medications, care plans, and health promotion
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Support the provider team in delivering coordinated, high-quality care
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as scheduling, call-backs, and managing referrals

Qualifications

  • Valid and current licensure/certification in the state of Iowa as one of the following:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Iowa Board of Nursing
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, or equivalent)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, etc.) and basic computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
