Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center has a 16-bed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit located 12 miles SW of Portland. Our ICU provides care to patients who are seriously ill or at high risk of developing life-threatening problems as a result of complex medical processes, renal or respiratory failure or patients who have suffered strokes, heart attacks or undergone invasive surgery.

Responsibilities

Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant standards and scope of practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health system including those for patients’ assessment and transfer.

Qualifications

Education: 

As required by licensure.  BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.

 

Experience:

One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration.  Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.

ICU Experience required (minimum 1 year) 

 

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Responsible for maintaining standards of care, able to assess patients quickly, prioritize, knowledge of nursing care methods, procedures and emergency care.

  • Excels at communication with a variety of team members, high integrity, accountability, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Responsible and compassionate, calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to a positive work environment.

 

 

 

 

Licensure

  • Current applicable state RN license required.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • ICU: AHA ACLS required / IMCU: AHA ACLS required within 6 months
  • NIHSS preferred.

Pay Range

USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr.

Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses, following company, Federal, State, and local requirements. Ensure resident records and charting are current and up to date. Participate in the management team's marketing efforts by representing the community in a positive manner to outside agencies. Requirements CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Education and certifications: An RN nursing license in good standing. An associate degree or higher in nursing is preferred, or a combination of education and experience. Additional coursework in management is an asset. Current state-required certifications, like First Aid, CPR, and others. Experience, Competencies, and Skills: At least four (4) years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacies. At least two (2) years in a supervisory/management role; experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling. Experience in Memory Care is preferred. Outstanding organizational skills. Proficient in computer literacy and good knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
