About the Role: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations within a rural health clinic setting. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing psychiatric disorders through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and medication management. The PMHNP collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that promote mental wellness and recovery. By providing compassionate care and education, the practitioner supports patients and their families in navigating mental health challenges. Ultimately, this role aims to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of life for individuals experiencing psychiatric conditions within the clinic healthcare setting. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent. Minimum of two years of clinical experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in diverse healthcare settings including inpatient, outpatient, or community mental health clinics. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for patients, maintaining accurate and current patient records and scheduling and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required.
