Nurse Practitioner:

Responsible for providing appropriate care for acute and chronic Neurologic disease and disorders of the nervous system and conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. The Neurology NP is part of an interdisciplinary team of support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of the System, Hospital and Garnet Health Doctors, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients. Neurology Nurse Practitioner work both in-patient hospital care and well as out-patient clinic care. Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:

Minimum Education:
• Masters in Nursing Required with Neurology Specialty training preferred.
• Post-Masters Certificate –Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Minimum Experience:
• 1 year of experience in Neurology care settings required.

Required Certification/Registration:
• NYS Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License – with Prescriptive Privileges required.
• DEA required.
• BLS certification preferred and ACLS certification required.
• ANCC Board Certification Advanced Practice required.
• Current Opioid Prescriber Training Certificate required.
• Current Infectious Certificate required.

Physical Requirements:
• Travel to multiple facilities is required.

Working Conditions:
• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. Frequent contact with various Garnet Health staff, sales representatives, employees and community members. Minimum Experience:

1 year of experience in Emergency Room or Neurology care settings preferred.

Required Certification/Registration:

Graduate of an Accredited Physician’s Assistant Program required.
Current Physician’s Assistant Licensure in New York State required.
