The Clinical Supervisor assists with the coordination and management of clinical activities and is responsible for scheduling, supervising, counseling and disciplining of clinical staff. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises nursing and other clinical staff, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluation, skills assessments, counseling and disciplinary actions
  • Works annually with clinic manager in development of clinic budget
  • Ensures clinical staff is following proper procedures of documentation and chart review for completeness and accuracy
  • Addresses complaints in a timely manner when it is regarding the nursing function
  • Monitors and evaluates the clinical care provided by the nursing staff to all patients
  • Evaluates and communicates need for quality improvement to the clinical staff
  • Responsible for all clinic management activities when the clinic manager is out of the office
  • Supervises and coordinates the delegation and implementation of patient care of licensed and non-licensed personnel for assigned shift/area.

Nurses must know and use standard universal precautions when encountering a potential biological hazard. Communicable disease precautions are taken into consideration with any possible exposure. Position is exposed daily to used needles, sharps and contaminated medical instruments. Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state.
  • BLS Certification
  • 1 year of work experience as an RN or LPN; experience with physician practice preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
