This Cath Lab Registerd Nurse is a per diem opportunity. This  dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to adult patient populations.  Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment.  This position communicates effectively with the physician and team members about patient condition.  Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.  Assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all appropriate needs of the cardiovascular lab team are met.  Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure as well as administers moderate sedation under the guidance of the Physician.  Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for admitting, recovering and discharging of patients from the Cardiovascular Lab. 
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served.  Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.  This includes post-procedure assessments

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current NV nursing license
  • Current BLS certificate
  • ACLS certificate
  • Must have Cath Lab experiece required
  • One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Current POC certification within 6 months of hire
  • Willing to take call/standby in the Cardiovascular lab as needed

We are looking for a dynamic individual who s erves as a Specialized Registered Nurse who provides the surgical team with assistance within the Operating Room and other similar settings. Assists the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. Functions interdependently with the surgeon and applies knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient. Functions within the state laws regarding surgical assisting and state nursing practice act. The Certified RNFA does not concurrently function as the Scrub Nurse. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Performs first assisting role interdependently with surgeon. Assists with room set-up and tear down to facilitate patient flow. Assists in maintaining hemostasis by direct pressure, use of appropriate surgical instrument for the task, placement of ties, placement of suture ligatures, application of chemical hemostatic agents, or other measures under direct supervision of surgeon Performs immediate post-operative subcutaneous injection of local anesthetic agent or cocktail before dressing application. Provides hemostasis, and other intraoperative technical functions that assist a physician in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
