Summary:

 Join our team as a per diem Nursing Supervisor, providing essential leadership and clinical oversight on a shift-by-shift basis. In this role, you will coordinate all patient care activities and personnel across the Clinical Divisions, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality care. You’ll offer clinical support to all patient care units as needed and act as a representative of Hospital/Nursing Administration in their absence, applying strong management and leadership skills. A Nursing Supervisor is on duty 24/7, and this position offers flexible scheduling for those seeking a dynamic and impactful role.

Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  2. Current Maine licensure as a registered professional nurse.
  3. BSN or BS in a health-related field encouraged/preferred.
  4. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP,TNCC,
  5. Evidence of ongoing education in Management and Nursing.


Experience Required:

  1. Demonstrated management and leadership abilities.
  2. Recent nursing experience of 3-5 years including critical care or emergency nursing.


Special Requirements:

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  2. Possess basic computer skills.
  3. Demonstrates proficient IV and PAC skills.


Cognitive Requirements:

  1. Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
  2. Ability for high performance in stressful situations.
  3. Ability to prioritize and follow through.
  4. Ability to evaluate effectiveness/appropriateness of resource utilization and allocation.


Physical Demands:

  1. Able to sit, stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift.
  2. Adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity.
  3. General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours.
  4. Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).


Environment:

  1. Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
  2. Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
  3. Potential for periods of high stress.
