Responsibilities

A Clinical Nurse II (CN II) demonstrates competent patient and family- centered care using the nursing process. The CN II will work with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based patient care, positive patient care experiences and quality outcomes in the professional nursing practice environment.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education and Work Experience:
    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam
    • BSN Preferred
    • Must possess 1 year of current clinical experience
    • Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • License Requirements:
    • RN License
  • Certification Requirements:
    • Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire
  • Specialty Certifications:
    • PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire or 6 months of promotion
    • ED - ACLS within 6 months of hire/promotion & ENPC or PALS within 1 year
    • Mother/Baby, NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion
    • Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 1 year of hire
    • Telemetry - ACLS within 1 year of hire, within 18 months of hire if new grad
    • Chemotherapy Clinic (Outpatient Chemo) -  ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification within 1 year of hire and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification within 2 years of hire

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
