Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Position Overview: Staff nurse will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with serious heart and vascular conditions. This includes recovering hearts from various cardiac procedures. Shifts are three 12-hour shifts one week and four 12-hour shifts the following week (every other weekend included).

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements:

  • ADN required, BSN preferred.

Job Requirements: 

  • Current RN License.
  • Previous cardiac experience required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a strong customer service focus.
  • Strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills as evidenced by the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components required.
  • Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team and patients, and their families.
