This position seeks a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated healthcare support for a K-12 student with complex medical needs in a full-time, contract role in Medford, MA. The RN will be responsible for managing a one-on-one caseload involving seizure medication administration, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and gastrostomy tube (G-tube) feeding. The nurse will also accompany the student during bus transportation to and from school, ensuring continuous medical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer seizure medications as prescribed and monitor the student's response.
- Provide tracheostomy and suctioning care according to medical guidelines.
- Manage feeding through G-tube with proper protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with school staff and healthcare providers.
- Support the student during bus transportation to ensure safety and medical readiness.
- Collaborate with the educational team to promote the students well-being throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Experience with pediatric nursing, particularly working with students requiring complex medical care.
- Ability to manage tracheostomy, suctioning, and G-tube feeding confidently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school personnel and families.
Location: This role is based in Medford, Massachusetts, serving a K-12 school setting.
Contract Details:
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday.
- Contract duration: school year (NSY).
