  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Certifications

  • 75+ Hour CNA Certification (must show proof of cert upon hire) required
  • American Heart Association BLS (may be obtained upon hire)

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable CNA II – Wound Aide to support our clinical team in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate wound care for our residents. This role works under the supervision of the Unit Manager and collaborates closely with the Interdisciplinary Team. The CNA II will assist with wound-related tasks permitted within their NC CNA II scope while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Minimum Requirements Current CNA II certification in the State of North Carolina (N.C. Board of Nursing). Active CNA I certification and listed in good standing with the NC Nurse Aide Registry. Experience in Wound Care within a Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility required. Strong understanding of infection control, resident safety, and wound prevention protocols. Ability to follow clinical direction, communicate clearly, and document accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be dependable, professional, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Primary Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, the CNA II – Wound Aide will: Assist with wound care tasks permitted for CNA II per NC scope of practice (e.g., wound cleansing, simple dressing changes, skin care treatments). Ensure timely preparation of residents for wound rounds (positioning, removing dressings, gathering supplies). Assist the Wound Nurse and Unit Manager during wound assessment, treatments, and weekly skin rounds. Monitor residents for changes in skin integrity and immediately report concerns to supervising nurse. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR per facility policy. Ensure resident comfort and safety during all wound procedures. Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans. Uphold all infection control, standard precautions, and safety protocols. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked wound care carts and treatment areas. Participate in staff education, skin prevention audits, and QAPI initiatives related to wound care. Provide general CNA duties as needed to support unit operations.
