Summary of Position:

Home Health Aides provide personal care and health related services to patients. HHA’s work in the client’s homes and assist them with:

· Personal care

· Light housekeeping, including laundry

· Exercise programs

· Vital signs

· Ostomy care

· Simple dressing changes

· Preparing and assisting with meals

· Shopping and running errands

· Companionship

Starting pay rate $20.00 per hour

Sign-on bonus of $500.00 is available upon successful completion of specific milestones per company policy.

If unable to perform a certain task, report to the RN immediately. • Responsible for meeting the safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly • Responsible for giving direct personal care, including complete or partial baths in the tub or shower as ordered, back rubs, oral hygiene, hair care, shaving (using an electric razor only), and changing bed linen as often as assigned. • Responsible for assisting in the dressing and undressing of patients as assigned. • Responsible for providing proper care and observation of the patient’s skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence. • Responsible for reporting on the patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned RN • Responsible for being aware of and reporting on the status changes of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient, and interpersonal issues that may come up • Assist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the RN or therapist while adhering to the transfer/assist transfer policy of the agency. • Assistance with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations ('reminders.") • Responsible for providing incontinent care as needed. Offering and assisting with bedpans and urinals. Providing assistance as assigned with light laundry needs. • Responsible for keeping the patient's living area clean and orderly, including bed linens and cloths as needed while being respectful of the patient and family/caregiver environment and personal needs as time allows • Responsible for adhering to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct. • Other office /administrative duties as assigned Qualifications (Minimum qualifications will be considered required unless specifically stated otherwise) Experience: • Minimum of one (I) to two (2) year's experience in health care preferred. • Experience in acute care in an institutional setting preferred. • Experience in homecare preferred. Education and Training: (Acquired through formal education, outside study, training on jobs of lesser degree, or by any combination of these.
