As a Wound Care Technician you are instrumental in improving the lives of our residents. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Warren Barr Lincoln Park by providing support to the Treatment Nurse and wound care team, assisting the with the delivery of wound care services under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assisting with lifting, turning and repositioning of residents during the delivery of wound care, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered.
