What You’ll Be Doing:
• Assess pediatric patients and provide appropriate care and education
• Perform treatments, immunizations, and phone triage using clinical protocols
• Support providers and families through each stage of care
• Float to satellite clinics as needed and contribute to a collaborative care team

Who We’re Looking For:
• RN with current state license (new grads encouraged!)
• BLS certification required

Registered Nurse- Pediatric ICU (Nights)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) healthcare team. This is a 24-hour direct patient care unit with 6 private patient rooms. Patients admitted to the PICU are likely to be those with acute medical disease states. Our patients range in age from newborn to 19 years of age. We primarily care for patients with respiratory distress/respiratory failure, sepsis, status asthmaticus, DKA, status epilepticus, and post op Neurosurgery or other post-operative patients requiring ICU care. This includes patients with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, ICP monitoring, EVD monitoring), surgical drains/chest tubes, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, tracheostomies with vent support, vasopressor requirement (epinephrine, dopamine, vasopressin), and/or continuous sedation requirement (versed, fentanyl, precedex etc). This is a supportive close-knit team where the patients and their families are the center of our care. Schedule: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM/36 hours per week Every third weekend rotation MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Utilizes the nursing process to complete the admission physical, cognitive, spiritual, psychosocial, and functional patient assessment. Develops and implements a plan of care (including goals) that is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis. Develops, reviews, and implements the discharge plan upon admission, and throughout the patient stay. Implements nursing care activities according to patient needs or as directed by the medical provider in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs point-of-care lab testing as per established policies and procedures. Assesses patient/family understanding, response to care provided and patient/family education needs and redirects care as needed. Reports accurate, detailed hand-off communication regarding the patient's condition, care, treatment, medications, services, and any recent or anticipated changes to any of these when patient care is transferred from one healthcare team or team member to another.
